The Great Exchange

The Great Exchange

Christ is My Sufficiency
By Pastor Jim Loper

1. (John 3:16 NKJV) 16“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. *God’s Son died in my place so I could have everlasting life and not perish. Because I believe in Him, I now have everlasting life, and I will not perish.

2. (1 Pet. 3:18 NASB) 18For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit. *Christ died for my sins…the just for the unjust. His death for my sins was sufficient to make me just and to bring me to God. His death for my sins has made me just and brought me into God’s presence.

---
3. (Heb. 9:26-28 NKJV) 26He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. 27And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. *The sacrifice of Christ was sufficient to put away my sin. Through His one offering to bear the sins of many, all the sins of my lifetime have been atoned for.

---
4. (Heb. 10:10 NKJV) 10By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. *The offering of the body of Jesus Christ was sufficient to sanctify me. I am sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ.

---
5. (Col. 1:21, 22 NKJV) 21And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight. *The death of Christ was sufficient to reconcile me to God, and to make me holy, blameless, and above reproach in His sight. I am now reconciled to God, and I am holy, blameless, and above reproach in His sight.

---
6. (Rom. 5:6-11 NKJV) 6For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. *Christ died for me when I was an ungodly sinner and an enemy of God. His blood is sufficient to justify me, reconcile me, and save me from wrath. His life is sufficient to save me forever. I am justified and reconciled to God. I am saved from the wrath to come.

7. (Isa. 53:4-6 NKJV) 4Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. 5But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. 6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. *Jesus bore my sickness and carried my pains at the same time He was wounded for my transgressions, bruised for my iniquities, chastised for my peace, and striped for my healing. All of my iniquity was laid on Him. His being wounded was sufficient to take away my transgressions. His being bruised was sufficient to take away my iniquities. His being chastised was sufficient to bring me peace. His being striped was sufficient for my healing. My transgressions and iniquities are forgiven. I have peace with God, and I am healed.

---
8. (1 Pet. 2:24 NKJV) 24who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. *The bearing of my sins in His body on the tree is sufficient for my death to sin and for me to live for righteousness. The bearing of stripes on His body is sufficient for my healing. I confess that I am dead to sin, I live for righteousness, and I am healed.

---
9. (John 1:29 NKJV) 29The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! *The sacrifice of Christ as the Lamb of God is sufficient to take away the sin of the entire world, and that includes the entirety of the sin of my lifetime. The Lamb of God has taken away my sin.

---
10. (Isa. 53:10-12 NKJV) 10Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief (made Him sick). When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. 11He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, for He shall bear their iniquities. 12Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. *He was not only bruised for my iniquity, but that same bruise was sufficient for the healing of my sickness. His soul being made an offering for sin and His bearing of my iniquities was sufficient to justify me. The pouring out of His soul unto death was sufficient to give me life. His being numbered with transgressors was sufficient for me to be numbered with the righteous. His bearing the sin of many was sufficient for the remission of all of my sin. His intercession for transgressors was sufficient for my right standing with God. I am healed. I am justified. I have life. My sin is remitted. I am righteous.

---
11. (1 Cor. 5:7 NKJV) 7Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. *The sacrifice of Christ my Passover is sufficient to make me truly unleavened from sin, and for God to pass over me in judgment. I am truly unleavened and God has passed over me in judgment for sin.

---
12. (Gal. 3:13, 14 NKJV) 13Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), 14that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. *Christ being made a curse for me is sufficient for the blessing of Abraham to come upon me, and for me to receive the promise of the Spirit by faith.  I am redeemed from the curse of the law, and I am blessed with Abraham’s blessing.

---
13. (2 Cor. 5:21 NKJV) 21For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. *Christ being made sin for me is sufficient for me to become the righteousness of God in Him. I am the righteousness of God in Christ.

---
14. (1 Tim. 1:15 NKJV) 15This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. *Christ coming into the world to give His life for sinners is sufficient to save me from my sin. Christ has saved me from my sin.

---
15. (Rom. 15:3 NKJV) 3For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.” *The reproaches (the shame, infamy, disgrace, censure, contempt, and derision) that I deserved for reproaching God with my sin fell on Jesus. Jesus bearing the reproaches that I deserved is sufficient to free me from reproach for sin. I am free from shame, infamy, disgrace, censure, contempt, and derision.

---
16. (2 Cor. 8:9 NKJV) 9For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. *Christ becoming impoverished on the cross is sufficient for me to made rich. I am redeemed from poverty.

---
17. (Rom. 3:24-26 NKJV) 24being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. *The redemption that is in Christ Jesus is sufficient to justify me. His being set forth as a propitiation by His blood is sufficient to justify me through faith in Jesus. I am justified.

---
18. (1 John 2:1, 2 NKJV) 1My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

*Christ being made the propitiation for the sins of the whole world is plenty sufficient as the propitiation for the sins of my lifetime. The demands of justice that were against me have been satisfied, and the wrath of God has been removed from me.

---
19. (2 Cor. 5:14, 15 NKJV) 14For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. *Christ’s death and resurrection is sufficient for the death of my old man and sufficient for me to no longer live for myself but for Him.

---
20. (John 12:31, 32 NKJV) 31“Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. 32“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.” *Christ being lifted up on the cross is sufficient for the judgment of the sins of the world, and for our deliverance from the dominion of the ruler of this world. My sins have been judged on the cross, and I am delivered from the dominion of the ruler of this world.

---
21. (Heb. 1:3 NKJV) 3who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. *The offering of Christ is sufficient to purge my sins. My sins have been purged by the offering of Christ.

---
22. (Matt. 20:28 NKJV) 28“just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” *The giving of Christ’s life was sufficient to ransom me from sin, Satan, and death. I am ransomed from sin, Satan, and death.

---
23. (Col. 2:13-15 NKJV) 13And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. *God removed my certificate of debt, the handwriting of requirements that was against me, by nailing it to the cross of Christ. All of my sins have been nailed to the cross.

---
24. (Eph. 2:14, 15 NKJV) 14For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace. *Christ abolished in His flesh the enmity that existed between God and me as defined by the law; thus making peace between us.
